The next hunt takes the FBI: Most Wanted team to Rhode Island, where a murder among the rich doesn't quite add up. "The Fugitive Task Force is thrown into the world of the wealthy and twisted after a Rhode Island socialite is murdered in her own mansion. Meanwhile, Barnes (Roxy Sternberg) contemplates big changes," reads the logline for FBI: Most Wanted Season 6, Episode 18, "Trust." CBS released a sneak peek of the episode airing next Tuesday, April 15, at 10 p.m. ET, where Remy questions the evidence found on the scene, which he suspects is staged. "I call B.S.," Remy (Dylan McDermott) says in the video below when the team arrives at the crime scene.
The evidence would suggest that a bartender at a club for the wealthy killed the woman before killing himself in what should be interpreted as a murder-suicide. He left a signed letter confessing to the crime, which would end the investigation. However, Remy's instincts tell him something is not quite adding up. "Two days ago when he murdered Vanessa Van Dyke, he didn't wake up one day and just decided to kill his boss' wife," Remy claims. It's not uncommon for rich people to try to evade justice when they commit crimes, and since justice is heavily skewed against the poor, they end up paying for someone else's crimes. Who would be a better scapegoat than the poor bartender? It's not that hard to conjure a motive. Unlucky for the killer, Remy sees through the B.S.
The 'FBI: Most Wanted' Team Prepares to Disperse
Following the show's cancelation, the next few episodes will set up an appropriate ending for the Fugitive Task Force before the series finale next month. The process began with Sheryll considering taking on a different role in the Bureau in Episode 17, "Gut Job." Her new position would see her leave field work for a supervisory position in another unit. The logline for "Trust," teases her decision, which she deferred as she thought things over. CBS has already set the series finale date for May 20. "The Fugitive Task Force hunts down a rogue government operative planning a domestic terror attack," reads the logline for FBI: Most Wanted Season 6, Episode 22, "The Circle Game." What will Sheryll decide? What happens to the other team members?
Tune in to CBS on Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET to watch new FBI: Most Wanted episodes and see how the show signs off.
